Justice Sanjiv Khanna has officially assumed office as the 51st Chief Justice of India (CJI). Appointed by President Droupadi Murmu, Justice Khanna succeeded Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, who retired from the post. Justice Khanna, known for his keen legal acumen and balanced judgments, has a distinguished career spanning over three decades. Prior to becoming CJI, he served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India and held important positions in the Delhi High Court. His tenure as the head of the judiciary is expected to focus on strengthening judicial reforms, transparency, and access to justice for all.
