SpaceX Launches ISRO GSAT-N2 Communication Satellite into Space
On November 19, 2024, SpaceX successfully launched the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) GSAT-N2 communication satellite into orbit. The mission, carried out aboard a Falcon 9 rocket, marks another milestone in the collaboration between the United States-based private space company and the Indian space agency. The satellite was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The GSAT-N2 satellite is designed to enhance India communication infrastructure, supporting a range of services including telecommunication, television broadcasting, and broadband. The satellite is equipped with advanced transponders that will provide much-needed connectivity to remote and underserved regions across India.
SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took off on schedule, delivering the GSAT-N2 satellite into its designated geostationary orbit. The rockets first stage successfully completed its landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, showcasing the reusable technology that has revolutionized space travel.
This successful launch strengthens the ongoing partnership between ISRO and SpaceX, as both entities continue to push the boundaries of space exploration and commercial space flight.
The GSAT-N2 satellite will soon begin its operational duties, providing vital communications services to millions of people in India, further cementing India position in the global space arena.
