Trump Policies to Have Indirect Effect on UAE and MENA Economies, Experts Say

Former U.S. President Donald Trump policies are expected to have an indirect effect on the UAE and MENA region economies, according to economic experts. While Trump is no longer in office, the long-term implications of his trade, energy, and foreign policies continue to influence the region.

During his presidency, Trump prioritized energy independence for the U.S., which led to a shift in global oil dynamics. The UAE and other MENA nations, which are major oil exporters, felt the impact as oil prices fluctuated in response to U.S. domestic production increases. This shift has led to a more competitive market, affecting regional economies that heavily rely on oil revenues.

Additionally, Trump America First  trade policies, including tariffs and trade wars, have disrupted global supply chains, indirectly influencing MENA economies. The UAE, a hub for trade and logistics, saw shifts in trade routes and patterns as the U.S. imposed tariffs on China and other key trading partners.

Despite these challenges, the UAE and MENA nations have continued to adapt, diversifying their economies and strengthening their trade relationships with other global powers, reducing their dependence on U.S. policies.

The effects of Trump policies on the region future economic outlook will largely depend on ongoing geopolitical and trade developments.
