Aston Villa Defeat West Ham 2-1 as Morgan Rogers Late Goal Secures FA Cup Progress

Aston Villa advanced to the FA Cup fourth round with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Ham United on Thursday, thanks to a decisive late goal by Morgan Rogers. The intense encounter at Villa Park saw Unai Emery side overcoming a resilient West Ham team to secure their place in the next stage.

Villa opened the scoring early in the first half through Ollie Watkins, who capitalized on a defensive error to put the hosts ahead. West Ham responded strongly, equalizing before halftime with a well-placed strike by Jarrod Bowen, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

Both teams pushed hard for a winner, but it was Morgan Rogers who stole the spotlight in the 85th minute. The young forward scored with a composed finish, capping off a swift counterattack and sending the home crowd into jubilation.

West Ham pressed for an equalizer in the closing moments but were denied by a solid Villa defense, led by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The victory reflects Aston Villa strong form under Emery, as they now turn their focus to the next round of the FA Cup and their Premier League campaign.
